This is my second go at modeling a car. It it supposed to be a Lotus Elise, but with the amount of difficulty I've had wrestling it even this far I am going to be A-OK with it being "Lotus Elise-Like".
The first time I tried it I started outlining side and top reference images with vertices, and then attempted to make faces and somehow hoping to magically mold it into the final car shape. This did not go at all well.
This time I am going about it by box modeling the basic car mesh. I think it worked out quite a bit better, however it was still a LOT of busywork getting the faces to shape relatively well against the various reference views. There must be a better way. I'm sure if I spent time on a decent car tutorial I'd be hitting myself over how much trouble I could have avoided. Oh, well - next time.
